It’s me, Amy King. I’m a UX writer for Microsoft Teams. And self-appointed mentee of Jennifer Bost.
I have a tendency of stumbling into career endeavors and then falling in love with the work. Prior to tech I worked with kids with behavioral and developmental delays. Which taught me the need to meet my listener at their capability. And never assume understanding.
Which has come in handy every day at Microsoft.
Now, I look to my predecessors to learn how they’ve approached the work. To take what they’ve done and add my own fresh voice to the conversation.
To continue the movement toward natural and clear copy that’s warm and encouraging. So that we create software that meets our users at their capability then takes them even further.
And really, I wanted an excuse to hang out with Jenn more. Seriously, she’s great.
